Alexey
Krasnovsky

photo

email: info@galleryshoalcreek.com

A humble, modest man, Alexey Krasnovsky distills the urban landscape. It is this world where we live, he believes, that shapes our pysche. Always the observer, Krasnovsky sits on the sidelines pensively forming an impression, extracting imagery and mood. On canvas, the artist's structural simplicity creates a somber, yet universal view to which we all relate.

Krasnovsky grew up in postwar Leningrad [St. Petersburg] where he remembers "living in nostalgic literature rather than reality". He left his homeland in 1979 to pursue a migratory artistic career which has taken him throughout Europe and North America. He currently divides his time between Austin and Dublin, Ireland, where his work has been widely collected.
